What does David Gold do?

I'm not knocking him one bit but it seems to me Brady does the OS, Sullivan does the transfers and most of the club stuff along with his kids, so was wondering what he contributes?

He, like a lot of other business owners, pays others to work.

He was ill last year or two in hospital serious at his age. Doctors orders probably restrict him, coincided with Sullivan buying more shares with Gold not taking up the option. Also Sullivan has boys who are interested as where Gold has girls who are probably not.
He also has many other business interests so I am sure he keeps busy.

It's quite odd how some of our support knock Gold & Sullivan, they took us over at a real low point and have turned us into a functional football club again
Made some mistakes along the way but wear their heart on their sleeves and I for one am glad and grateful we have them in charge.

I think our directors should be justifiably proud of what they have achieved for our club
We are a million miles further on from the place we were when they took over
Gold is part of an excellent team, the inner workings of which are rightly not always obvious

Now I don't always like our owners and they've made mistakes but they saved us.

Johnson must get the hump every time he's the consumer on anything it's called in business MARKETING.
The downside to football is, and particularily our owners, is they are not very good at it but ALL clubs if in the top end will lie about transfer break downs, spending etc because they are trying to keep their brand at the highest level to sell it's product to keep the money flowing in and compete at the highest level.
West Ham's biggest problem is they have plenty of competition for their custom, whereas Southampton, Swansea etc can tap into a relatively free market in their catchment area.
In essence we have the best owners to deal with our hisorical mismanagement and lack of business ambition in a very competitive sporting arena on and off the pitch.

For West Ham, think Portsmouth without Gold and Sullivan. We could be in League 2 or out of business, so quit with the snide remarks about them. They've had their moments of dodgy judgements with Grant, but Allardyce was good for establishing us back in the Premier League, and sound financial management and forward planning will see us winning trophies and playing in Europe regularly over the next 5 years. Our style of play is exciting and the team really like playing that way, and with the new signings, I'm struggling to find a downside.

Both Gold and Sullivan have been brilliant for us, backed up their talk with millions spent on players.
Got rid of the icelandics, debt down, let's not talk about Grant, everyone's entitled to make a mistake, a bit of premiership stability and onwards to the OS
Anyone grumbling needs to get help!
